The feature-length documentary The Last Tlatoani , directed by internationally renowned filmmaker Pablo Jato, has won multiple awards at various festivals, such as the Quetzalcóatl International Indigenous Film Festival, where it was awarded best feature film; the Port Blair International, where it was recognized as best documentary, as well as at the Liberty Awards, where it won best documentary in Spanish.
The documentary is about the discovery of the supposedly known remains of a tlatoani, a trigger for every February, for more than 40 years, thousands of dancers from different places in the country and abroad to come to Ixcateopan de Cuauhtémoc to pay tribute to the last emperor of Tenochtitlan with emotional ceremonies.

El largometraje documental El último tlatoani, dirigido por el cineasta de trayectoria internacional Pablo Jato, ha sido merecedor de múltiples premios en varios festivales, como el Internacional de Cine Indígena Quetzalcóatl, en el que fue galardonado como mejor largometraje; el Port Blair International, en el que fue reconocido como mejor documental, así como en los premios Liberty, en los que ganó como mejor documental en español.
El documental trata sobre el hallazgo de los supuestos restos conocidos de un tlatoani, hecho detonante para que cada febrero, desde hace más de 40 años, lleguen a Ixcateopan de Cuauhtémoc miles de danzantes provenientes de diferentes lugares del país y del extranjero para rendir homenaje al último emperador de Tenochtitlan con emotivas ceremonias.
