WorldBeat Center’s summer camp programming for 2025 was a vibrant and enriching experience for participants, blending creativity, wellness, and cultural education. Kicking off in June with Miss Monie and Diva Works Dance, this year’s camps featured a dynamic mix of performing arts, STEM in the garden, cooking, theater, and a wide array of hands-on activities. A special highlight was the Friday performance, where families enjoyed an exciting showcase, including the trending dance style, “Boots on the Ground.”
In July, WorldBeat Center took part in the Level Up Summer Camp program, funded by the San Diego Foundation. This initiative provides free, high-quality summer enrichment opportunities for low-income San Diego Unified students. The program offers diverse activities in arts, STEM, sports, music, and social-emotional learning, helping combat summer learning loss and bridge achievement gaps. At our camp, children explored the roots of Hip Hop culture, learned foundational breakdance techniques, and engaged with rotating guest instructors, giving them exposure to a variety of local dance styles.
Our Garden & Wellness Camp fostered a deep connection with nature, offering a unique combination of wellness practices and outdoor education. Campers engaged in activities like yoga, sound healing, crafting with natural materials, and guided nature observations. The camp was designed to spark curiosity and creativity, while also promoting mindfulness and environmental
stewardship. Through these enriching activities, children developed a greater appreciation for the earth and their own well-being.
