Summer Camp Starts Mon, July 11th Till Fri, August 12th
Each year WorldBeat Center and Diva Works Dance offer a unique Summer Camp experience for the diverse families of San Diego. The Camp’s programming continues to grow and will include STEAM based activities in dance, theater, arts, hands-on gardening activities and weekly field trips. The Camp is under the direction of veteran dancer and school teacher Monica Harris, from the Diva Works Dance Company with guest community artists and instructors. Activities include hip hop and contemporary dance workshops, improv theater, children’s chorus, sustainable arts and crafts, hands-on gardening, bird watching and citizen science (supported by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology), and just added yoga and meditation. You can’t miss signing up for the best Camp yet!
Each year WorldBeat Center’s Camp programming keeps growing and improving and this year will be one of the best. Thanks to the donations provided by the community all campers will receive a Camp T-Shirt, gardening tools, costumes for theater and so far we have 3 scholarships that we’ve given! Mon. July 25th – Day Out of Time
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF TIME WAS NOT A FACTOR?
On July 25th, we will find out!
According to the 13 Moon Calendar of Natural Time, adapted from the Mayans,July 25th is a day between the years, outside of time.
So often in our fast paced culture, time is viewed as a limiting factor. A DAY OUT OF TIME IS ABOUT REMEMBERING THAT WE ARE LIMITLESS! And that the concept of time is just a tool. We can step into it, to organize and track, measure, and coordinate. But we can just as readily step out of it, to dream and explore and expand and enjoy!
EVENT WILL INCLUDE:
-Time bending LIVE MUSIC
-Mind bending LIVE ART
-Workshops exploring the Mysteries of Time, Space, and Reality
-Interactive Sacred Theater
-Conscious Local Food, Drink, & Craft Vendors
Admission is Donation Based
