Our children are our future, they grow up to become what we teach them and in a time when there is division, we must teach them how we can stay united. We are all one human race with many cultures. This last Wednesday a group of 5th grade students from High Tech Elementary San Diego presented an incredible project, “The Myth and Realities of the American Dream”, A Spoken Word Exhibition. In this project, they looked at how America’s history has been shaped by the American Dream. The students presented: spoken word from the perspective of diverse groups of people throughout American history, a mural art piece depicting the experiences of diverse groups throughout history, a timeline of historical eras with analysis of positive and negative contributions of various events in American history and more…
