Greetings WorldBeat Family,
It’s been months of whirlwind events, from Kwanzaa in December to Alternative New Years and before we knew it Martin Luther King Jr Day in full effect. All events were very well attended. A week later the WorldBeat crew went to Ithaca, NY into a snowstorm. Man was this California girl was dreading going into the snow. Everyone was talking about the blizzard and I was nervous about traveling, but we prepared ourselves with snow gear. So it made our visit to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology great. Once we arrived I realized I really love the snow for visiting. Above is a photo of Berenice and I at the Taughannock Falls in Ithaca. Wow, I’m glad we live in California. We’re proud to say we were invited to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology because we’ve been awarded part of a four year NSF grant along with other informal science institututions, community based orgarnizations and advisory organizations across the nation. They are all great and compassionate people and we’re looking forward to working with them.

Our first Balboa Park Centennial Celebration, Tribute to the Reggae Legends was a great success. Coming up we have Earth Day, Nature Fest and Day of the Drum/Africa Fest as a part of the 2015 Balboa Park Celebrations.
