4th Annual Fela Kuti Day
There will never be another like him. Fela was sweet; perhaps not an adjective that would normally be used to describe this tornado of a man, but Fela was a sweet man. Many more than he needed to run his Lagos club, The Shrine, or to play in his band.

Capturing Fela just out of a prison stay in which he had been beaten, this is the Black President at his angriest and most charismatic. He and his wives outline the oppression directed against them, and Fela explains his bid for presidency, all interspersed with scorching Afrobeat live at the Shrine.
